The World Bank’s Board of Directors has disclosed the independent expert report External Review of IFC/MIGA E&S Accountability, including CAO’s Role and Effectiveness for public comment. CBI Managing Director David Fairman was one of six international experts on the Review Team.

The Report focuses on environmental and social accountability systems and processes of the World Bank's International Finance Corporation (IFC) and its Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA). The Report responds to questions raised by the Bank’s Board of Directors, management and external stakeholders on ways to identify and reduce E&S risks in IFC investments and MIGA guarantees jointly with IFC and MIGA clients, affected communities and advocates. It also assesses current systems for responding complaints on environmental and social impacts filed with the Bank’s Compliance Advisor/Ombudsman (CAO), as well as complaints brought to client grievance mechanisms and to IFC/MIGA project managers.
