Managing Director Patrick Field appeared on the online broadcast SCI TV hosted by Joshua Gordon at the Sports Conflict Institute to discuss lessons CBI has learned when dealing with an angry public, and how these lesson and strategies relate to the world of sports, particularly the public response to situations such as stadium developments, management scandals, and public perception of athletes and sports organizations. In this 15-minute interview, Pat explains how using the mutual gains approach to involve and engage people in these type of issues beyond the general-use practices of media campaigns and legal actions can really improve the relationship between the public and sports organizations and solve problems that the traditional methods may not.

He highlights some of the issues with the strategy around the Boston 2020 Olympic bid, challenging the paradigm of non-engagement, the NFL and the concussion issue, and managing the long-term relationships with local fans and taxpayers.
