Four hundred water leaders from the Midwest and West came together in April for a meeting, facilitated by CBI’s Ryan Golten, to create a plan for water conservation in the Ogallala/High Plains Aquifer Region. At the summit, participants developed a number of collective priorities and actions focused on improving water conservation and efficiencies, while also sustaining the economic well-being of agriculture-dependent communities, in light of climate change, aquifer and water quality decline, and market/policy shifts.
