Associate

Sophie is an Associate at the Consensus Building Institute, with over a decade of combined work experience in facilitation services, natural resource management, and event planning.  She is highly practiced in project management, logistics coordination, multi-party facilitation, and collaborative problem-solving.  Prior to joining CBI, Sophie served as an Associate Facilitator and Water Program Coordinator for the Consensus and Collaboration Program (formerly the Center for Collaborative Policy) at California State University, Sacramento.

 

Sophie has extensive experience supporting public outreach and inter-organizational coordination to address complex water use issues, including managed aquifer recharge, statewide urban water use efficiency, sustainable groundwater management, and water quality monitoring. Sophie hails from the rural Central Sierra Nevada foothills and has worked on the ground in Shasta-Trinity and Inyo National Forests, and Sequoia Kings-Canyon and Yosemite National Parks.

Education and Affiliations

Sophie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Language Studies from the University of California (UC), Santa Cruz with a Sociology minor, and a Professional Certificate in Conflict Resolution from UC Davis Extension.
