Mara is an independent consultant in consensus building and multiparty negotiations. She was Executive Director of the Center for Civic Collaboration (CCC), the Mexican Center of Partners for Democratic Change International, from its foundation in 2005 until 2011. The CCC pioneered the formation of broad and inclusive coalition building based on dialogue and consensus building techniques to enable democratic changes. As an independent facilitator, she recently designed and facilitated the "1st Citizen Summit for the Peace and Justice in México," where more than 300 civic organizations reached consensus on a shared agenda that was presented and endorsed by the four presidential candidates in the 2012 election in Mexico.
