Associate
Illustrious Ewhorlu is an Associate at the Consensus Building Institute, with interests in sustainability, international development, civic and community engagement, peace and conflict resolution, and international education.
Prior to joining CBI, he worked as a Research Assistant at the Applied Economics Clinic (AEC) and as an Energy & Utilities Decarbonization Fellow at the University of New Hampshire (UNH), where he worked on developing a comprehensive decarbonization plan specifically tailored for the UNH Energy and Utilities department. Before that, in May 2022, he won the QS World Merit Social Responsibility Scholarship for a strong level of environmental awareness and a sense of social responsibility. Most recently, in May 2024, he received the Tufts University Honos Civicus Award for excellence in academic and civic life engagements.
He graduated from Tufts University with a Master of Science degree in sustainability and a Graduate Certificate in GIS. Prior to Tufts, he studied power engineering at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (PFUR), Moscow, Russia, and graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in power engineering and Certificate of Education and Diploma in Russian language. He is fluent in English and Russian and has an intermediate understanding of Ukrainian.
